Abstract:
Mufflers are commonly used in the industrial applications and in the internal combustion engines. It has also been observed that the various efforts have been done in the past to reduce the noice level and to reduce the pollution of exhaust gases which are coming out from the engine, through the exhaust pipe of the silencer.Various techniques are currently available for the modeling and testing of duct mufflers. Empirical, analytical and numerical techniques have been used and proved to be reliable under controlled conditions.All these modifications and development in their designs have been done so far were done in fixed type of Silencers/mufflers. No efforts were done to change its design from fixed type to accessible type of Muffler/Silencer.
